Somatic Yoga Workshop

Dates: July 17 & 18, 2025, and August 8 & 9, 2025


Time: 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM  


Location: Motus Dance Studio (Chora)


This workshop invites you to deepen your understanding of your body through playful exploration, drawing on principles from Body-Mind Centering (BMC) and Sensit Yoga. Over two days, we will delve into:

  • Skeletal System: Exploring the lower limbs, upper limbs, and axial skeleton.  
  • Organ System: Focusing on the lungs, heart, and intestines.  
  • Fluid System: Understanding cellular, extracellular, and synovial fluids.

Through movement and touch, combined with accessible theoretical insights, you'll cultivate a profound connection with your body's structure and physiology.


This journey resembles navigating through a children's anatomy book—engaging and enlightening.

Yoga and healing music

A journey through subtle frequencies and movements


This workshop intertwines yoga and music, two practices that harmoniously complement each other. Both disciplines calm the mind and open pathways to an inward journey.


By integrating pranayama (breath control), vocal work, and chanting, you deepen your breath and experience a subtle internal massage through vibration.


The collective resonance of voices fosters an immediate sense of peace and unity, aligning you with yourself and those around you.


Originating from Bhakti Yoga—the yoga of devotion—mantras and bhajans invite divine qualities into your life. 


Gentle yoga movement guides you to open your body and connect with your inner self. Explore the art of mindful movement to enhance flexibility and relaxation.


The continuous rhythm of the frame drum connects you to your internal rhythm. Your heartbeat, your breath. It grounds you and initiates free movement.


Pure sounds rich in overtones energise your cells while soothing the mind, inducing a meditative state.


Yoga helps you to remain fluid and aware as you absorb these musical vibrations.


The program culminates in a meditative sound journey, offering a serene conclusion to the experience.  


We will delve into:


  • Welcome meditation
  • Gentle exercises for the lungs and respiratory system.
  • Voice as an instrument and as a healing approach.
  • Gentle yoga movements to open the body.
  • Free movement in space with drumming as background music.
  • Singing mantras and relaxation exercises (forward bends etc.)  Shavasana with meditative music.
